Sweater - Thrifted (H&M)
There is a 72 year old man in Nepal that goes by the name of Chandra Bahadur Dangi. He say he's only 22 inches tall. That's the length I chose to cut last week. 22 inches.
I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous, because I was. Like, sweaty-palms-and-butterflies-on-steroids-in-my-belly type of nervous. I hardly got any sleep the night before, mostly because I really-really hate all kinds of change. But, I truly wanted to do this. My hair is, and has been, such a big part of my identity. At times it has felt like my whole identity. My curtains, for shutting out the world. My shelter, during all kinds of storms. My protection.
I found a quote that said "I should change the world, instead of protecting myself from it". I may not be able to change the whole world, but I am able to change my world. At least parts of it. So I did. I changed the view.
So thank you to the worlds greatest hair stylist, Harlem Alexander, for daring to make the cut.

It's a beautiful haircut.

Thank you so much, Miranda <3
DeleteYou look gorgeous with shorter hair! I also chopped my hair to my shoulders last year. It is so freeing to have shorter hair! Especially where I live, where it's humid all year. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Heidi! It is indeed very freeing, don't understand why I didn't do this sooner!
DeleteIt´s really nice haircut! <3
ReplyDeleteI used to cut my hair myself, although this year I probably won´t risk and i´ll visit a hairdresser :)
Thank you!
DeleteI always cut my own hair, unless I'm making a big change, like this. I'm such a control freak! ;)
