Video: Vintage shopping with Barbro Andersen

Todays challenge was a blast! I went to the NYC Opera Thrift Shop on 222 East 23rd street, between 2nd and 3rd aves. The store was absolutely amazing, so much good stuff - I think I actually have to go back there before I head back to Norway. I spent almost two hours inside my, now, new favorite vintage hotspot, and my very first pick was the amazing sequined blazer - I just had to have it! People were commenting on it as I waded my way through a maze of vintage beauties, admiring my find and loving the concept of the Nokia & ELLE contest. The jacket cost $45 - but it was so worth it! My second pick was the pencil skirt, which actually is from Oscar De La Renta! It was on sale, like $7.50! How awesome is that? You can't find anything like that in Norway, so I just keep finding reasons to love New York even more. There are treasures everywhere! Since the jacket was so expensive, almost 50% of my budget - I really had to put an effort into finding inexpensive accessories. The shoes from Chocolate Blu were a bargain at only $20 and so on trend right now with the simplicity and the thin, golden heels. The belt was a find at $12, which made the total nothing less than $99.50. I'm thrilled about my purchases, and what makes it all even better is that I actually won the challenge! Can you believe it? The prize is an additional interview with someone very special, which I'll tell you all about later. The other contestants also did a brilliant job, finding everything from Prada to no-label accessories like me. Best challenge yet!
