I've always been that person that cannot throw anything away; and this proves it. I'm glad, though, because if I wasn't I would never have been able to make this beautiful thing. First off, I must say that I find old pictures really romantic, but somehow I've completely forgotten about the fact that I myself have taken a lot of photographs throughout the years. Today I decided to go through my forgotten photo-albums, and man was I surprised when I saw what I had saved. Treasures! Lots and lots of treasures! I find myself somewhat overwhelmed, to be honest; because while I've been busy tumbling similar pictures by others, I never stopped to think that I myself might have some. I have in fact been a little girl running around with my parents camera! I've taken pictures of the sun and the rainbow and used flashlight to light up snowball fights and held my fingers in front of the lens. Thank godless for that; because these are some of the most beautiful things I've seen in a long time. I am proud; because though I never intended for the pictures to turn out like that - I did take them and I did save them. Now I know why. Enjoy my little DIY/art-project anno 2011. The pictures I used are from 1996 and up to cirka 2003 - and how I did it is pretty self-explanatory through these photographs, I think; but if you have any questions just ask!
Oh, and if you want to make your own, make sure you have a little helper with you; Emma was very supportive!
Inspiration for this project come from this picture.

This turned out beautifully! I always have to be very careful in going through old photos...as I tend to get stuck on memory lane and lose several hours to reminiscing.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! I've done things like this in the past, but I like that you hung it from a cool crooked branch. That's certainly something inexpensive and eye catching to liven up a blank wall. I love your pics too... they look great when they're all shown together like this.
