Mandatory introduction

My name is Barbro Andersen (she/her), and I’m a self taught multidisciplinary artist based in Oslo, Norway. I wake up every day wanting to throat punch the patriarchy, but after a cup of coffee I usually end up choosing the slightly less violent option of making art instead.

When I call myself a multidisciplinary artist, my Instagram account is a very good visual representation of what I mean.

I do digital illustrations of levitating vulvas one day, layered abstract acrylic paintings the next, and on the third day, since I’m still waiting for my lino prints to dry, I pull out my Micron pens to doodle while I wait for my wood burning tool to get warm enough to incinerate runes into the wood I collected in the woods while I was chasing that huge double rainbow with my camera shortly after that crazy storm eight years ago, around the time I finished my gigantic 3D mandala with a pen that melts plastic, which my wife gave me for Christmas after I did my second runway show and that photoshoot for Vogue Korea. On day four, I write poems, but because I’m exhausted from being alive, I might disappear for a week (or five) while I try to become less overwhelmed by myself and the world. Also, I’m a full blown lesbian.

I actually don’t have ADHD, my mother had me tested. I am aware it might look that way to some people tho, but that’s just my personality. I do however struggle with chronic migraines and severe depression. And a (un)healthy obsession with dog and candy and dogs.

So if you’re into that sort of stuff, HI! It is so nice to meet you!

Thanks for reading and following along on my ever-changing journey.
