So, it turns out that
I'm in the army now. No, I'm not actually going into the red zone, at least not in the traditional sense.
It's probably more of a cupcake zone, when I think about it.
In February,
Bianco started their search for officers for their
fashion army. 2.800 fashion enthusiasts were recruited, some went to the try outs and now it's come down to only sixty officers from all over Scandinavia. I never thought I would actually make it and I honestly just joined because it sounded like fun.
Turns out it's the best thing I could have done!
"As a Fashion Army Officer you will get involved in designing shoes, choosing patterns and creating details. You will be invited to our Fashion Army Boot Camp – a weekend with fashion inspiration - and we will share the latest trend information, blog material, and all the stuff from the fashion industry with you. You will have a strong voice on what the Bianco collection will contain in the future."
So I'm from now on quite connected to
Bianco, which means I will be working with them on different tasks and projects from here on out. The first task for the Officers (me) is to
design a sandal for next summer (SS14). How exciting is that? It is of course not set in stone, as all 60 of us have to send in a sketch for review and consideration; but I will get to design one! Afterwards, Bianco will pick out the
best designs and ask
all of you which one they're should put into production. I'll of course let you know if I make it that far, so that I can beg all of you to vote for my designs.
It sounds pretty great to me and it's such
a unique opportunity! If you're interested, you can read more about it
here - or visit some of my fellow Officers like
Marie Ullevoldsæter and
Vilde Bjørnødegård.
So, lesson of the day is:
If you're thinking about joining a contest or anything like that right now - just do it. You never know what's going to happen!
