We have not wings we cannot soar; but, we have feet to scale and climb, by slow degrees, by more and more, the cloudy summits of our time

You know when you wake up in the morning, or the middle of the night: caught between worlds - when you're still kind of stuck in your nightmares? When you can't exactly differentiate what is real and what is not, and for a second or two, you feel boundless: infinite? I often feel like that and I think Sofie photographed that feeling very well right here. I think that's why it is one of my favorite photos from that shoot we did a little while ago.

I have this very rarely, actually, but that makes the moments more enjoyable I guess (especially when it's not the afterfeeling of a nightmare but of a beauriful dream that lingers!).

    1. It does indeed make the moments better when they include good dreams, or even beautiful nightmares. I'm prone to the opposite, unfortunately.

Thanks for leaving some letters for me <3

  2. I like that moment even more when I am awaking from a horrid nightmare, sometimes I wake up with the feeling of being disconnected and that part of me is hovering in the air looking down at me in bed. I think this photo illustrates this feeling to perfection, like you're still trying to get inside your own self. Call me morbid, if you will ;)

    1. Maybe morbidly correct, but never morbid. I think you just wrote what I couldn't. And it's beautiful.

      Thank you for sharing!
